Undergraduate faculty share in the delivery of the general education program, most often by teaching within the university's interdisciplinary core.

ATHLETIC TRAINING: Tenure Track Assistant Professor and Clinical Education Coordinator

The faculty member in this position is responsible for administrating all aspects of the Clinical Education program for an established Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) Accredited Athletic Training Program.

The Clinical Education Coordinator will administrate all aspects of the clinical education component of CAATE Accredited Athletic Training Program. Areas of responsibility include but are not limited to: instructing didactic and practicum courses; conduct the planning and implementation of Preceptor training, coordination and assessment of athletic training clinical education affiliate sites and student placements; assist in recruitment of potential athletic training majors and advisement of students; maintain documentation related to clinical sites, preceptors, and student clinical experiences. The clinical education coordinator is also responsible for arranging and overseeing all clinical assignments and conducting regular and planned clinical site visits each semester. The clinical education coordinator will assist the Program Chair in the maintenance of the CAATE standards and filing reports as required by the accreditor.

Qualified applicants must hold a Doctoral Degree preferred in athletic training, health-related field, or education from an accredited college or university; must have a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Board of Certification (BOC) athletic trainer in good standing; and must hold or be eligible for state of Illinois Licensure as an Athletic Trainer. Preferred candidates will have teaching experience and/or experience serving as a Preceptor in a CAATE Athletic Training Program.
