Aurora University is an independent, comprehensive institution founded in 1893 offering bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees. Our two campuses are located in Aurora, Illinois and on the shores of Geneva Lake in Wisconsin. Additionally, we have an Educational Center in Woodstock, Illinois. We seek talented faculty who are passionate about teaching and learning. As a private institution, Aurora University expects faculty to be involved in the lives of students through mentoring, student support, enrollment initiatives, and other activities related to the college experience. To facilitate this highly interactive faculty/student relationship, the typical teaching load is three 4 credit-hour courses per semester and student advising is supported by professional staff. Evidence of successful teaching, or a strong potential for successful teaching, is required for all positions. Undergraduate faculty share in the delivery of the general education program, most often by teaching within the university's interdisciplinary core.

LEADERSHIP STUDIES: Tenure Track Assistant Professor

The Aurora University Dunham School of Business and Public Policy invites applications for a tenure track assistant professor appointment in Leadership Studies. The Leadership Studies curriculum prepares undergraduates for careers in nonprofit management and global service. Through external partnerships, students completing the program will be eligible to apply for the Certified Nonprofit Professional (CNP) credential (conferred by the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance) or the Peace Corp.

Candidates for this position must hold a PhD in Leadership Studies (or other related terminal degree). Teaching and working experience are highly valued. Successful candidates will be expected to teach across the Leadership Studies curriculum, including courses in applied leadership ethics. This applicant will have the opportunity to teach in other areas of the university including business, public policy, and general education. Prior higher education teaching experience preferred.

Successful candidates will be expected to participate in curricular development, program assessment, student advising, supervising internships and student groups, and engage in institutional service and scholarship. As participating members off the School faculty, the successful candidate will be expected to participate in the activities of the School, including recruiting, mentoring, and other service.
