The Gen Internal Medicine Department at the University of North Texas Health Science Center is seeking to hire a Medical Assistant to join our team.The Medical Assistant is responsible for ensuring all patient care duties are completed in a safe, timely, and efficient manner in accordance with office nursing standards of care, accreditation standards, and university policies. Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:* Maintains supplies required for functioning of clinic. * Accomplishes managed care of insurance referrals, and prompt return of patient phone calls. * intake and screening of clients. * community outreach. * community service/advocacy. * knowledge of available community resources.* various clerical duties. * Assist with various clinic coordination activities including scheduling, patient recruitment, and quality control related to patient through put. * Schedule and maintain patient appointments. * Assists with patient check-in, patient assistance, and obtain medical records as required. * Ensures that patient flow occurs in an efficient manner, taking into consideration appointments times, types, and physician workload. * All other duties as assigned.
