Position Summary: The College of Osteopathic Medicine at Michigan State University (MSUCOM) is seeking applications from qualified individuals interested in advancing its longstanding tradition of educating osteopathic medical students in community-based hospitals throughout the state of Michigan. The Director of Assessment and Evaluation will lead and develop a comprehensive cross-program; cross institutional assessment program to support the college's mission and strategic initiatives. The Director will design and support academic and administrative review systems to demonstrate institutional effectiveness for MSUCOM and its State Wide Campus System partners across the continuum of undergraduate and graduate medical education. The Director will work closely with the college academic administrative team, MSUCOM's Curriculum Committee, Basic Science and Clinical Chairs and Faculty to assist administrative leadership, faculty and staff in appropriately understanding assessment reports for use in strategic planning and quality improvement. This is a 12-month, fixed-term (non-tenure-track) faculty position that reports directly to the Dean's office. Rank of appointment and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Faculty: Minimum Qualifications Support Staff: Minimum Requirements Educational qualifications include a DO, MD, PhD, EdD or equivalent terminal degree, with administrative experience in education. Required qualifications include a demonstrated capacity to manage a complex educational system, experience with the application of educational assessment methods, and the capacity to work effectively in a dynamic academic-clinical environment. The successful candidate should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be familiar with principles of adult education. Familiarity with online course management systems and classroom engagement systems is strongly desired, as is interest in pursuing scholarship in medical education.
