Building Envelope Field Engineer
The job will consist of providing Building Envelope Commissioning Services to a wide variety of clients on a variety of project types. These tasks will typically include, in conjunction with the senior staff, the following:
o Perform design reviews
o Perform submittal and shop drawing reviews
o Perform periodic site inspections
o Witness testing of exterior envelope systems, both in the field and in laboratory settings
o Generate site reports and maintain logs of ongoing project issues
o Provide client support as it relates to the envelope systems.
The applicant should have the following qualifications and attributes:
o General understanding of the fundamentals and detailing of various faade types
o Genuine interest in following a project through from design through post occupancy
o Strong interest in being in the field, witnessing envelope systems being installed and tested.
o Strong writing skills, experience in past site report writing is a plus.
o Able to adapt quickly and work well with others, especially under tight deadlines.
o Willingness to travel
o Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
o Comfort with conveying ideas quickly through note writing and sketching.
o Working knowledge of Revit is a plus
At a minimum the candidate should have a 5 year bachelor's degree in architecture or master's degree, and have 2 years of experience working in an architectural firm with 1 year experience doing Construction Administration.
