Assistant Professor of Music, Trumpet

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a nine-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Music (Trumpet) faculty position in the School of Music which begins August 7, 2017. Candidates should possess expertise in teaching undergraduate applied trumpet, studio-class, trumpet pedagogy and literature, as well as serving as Brass Area Coordinator for the School of Music. Candidates should demonstrate strong evidence of recruiting at the university level along with a proven record of positive relationships with high school directors and teachers. In addition, memberships in professional organizations such as the International Trumpet Guild is recognized as a valuable aspect of academic citizenship. Experience should include performances, master-classes, and or clinics at the regional, national or international level. This individual will perform faculty solo and chamber music concerts, extensively recruit and retain high-quality trumpet students, and develop and maintain visibility in the state, region, and nation as a performer and clinician. Responsibilities will include teaching, scholarship, and service. An earned doctorate in trumpet performance, the foreign equivalent, or its equivalent in training, ability, and/or experience is required.
