This is an outstanding opportunity located at Temple University's main campus in Philadelphia. The Studio Repair Engineer provides top tier in-house engineering support to all advanced technology areas of the Lew Klein College of Media and Communication. Areas include three TV Production Studios and accompanying Control Rooms, Audio Recording Suites, the Joe First Media Center, the Equipment Office, and emerging Klein College technologies. In coordination with other technical operations staff, this position is heavily involved in the design and installation of electronic, broadcast, and audio/visual systems throughout the school. This position requires knowledge of both analog and digital broadcast and A/V technologies. The Studio Repair Engineer will triage technology issues within the school, coordinate third-party equipment repairs, and contribute to multiple active equipment inventories. In addition, this position will support Klein College classes, student organizations, and live studio productions airing on Temple University Television (TUTV). Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required to support school productions or events. Performs other duties as assigned.


Required Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree and at least one year of directly related experience in broadcast engineering. Demonstrated network administration experience with production equipment LANs. Experience with both analog and digital broadcast and A/V technologies. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Required Skills & Abilities:
* Ability to work with professional A/V distribution and routing systems.
* Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills along with the ability to effectively interact with diverse groups of individuals.
* Ability to create a spreadsheet using a predominant spreadsheet package such as Excel.
* Strong analytical and trouble shooting skills.
* Demonstrated customer service skills.
* Ability to work nights and/or weekends, as necessary.

Preferred:
* Knowledge of video streaming technologies and VoIP delivery solutions.
* Work experience in higher education.
