Reporting to the Assistant Registrar, the Certification Specialist is expected to have an in-depth understanding of University enrollment verification and degree certification policy, procedure, regulations, and all SIS modules and data maintenance associated with these functions. With peak period support from the Assistant Registrar, this Specialist manages all certification operations in the University Registrar, including transcript, diploma, and verification processing, with particular focus on reporting of enrollment and graduation data to internal departments, third parties (National Student Clearinghouse, diploma vendors, etc.), and government organizations (VA, HESC, NSLDS, etc.). The Certification Specialist maintains current knowledge of changes in reporting requirements and compliance regulations, and regularly reviews office policies and procedures to ensure accurate, compliant, and timely certification of student records.Required Education:
Bachelor's degree

Preferred Education:
Master's degree

Required Experience:
3+ years' relevant experience in data maintenance/management, office operations, and staff supervision in a college or university office (with Registrar or Financial Aid functions), or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Experience:
VA Certifying Official. Experience handling enrollment and graduation reporting to National Student Clearinghouse and/or NSLDS. Experience with transcript and/or diploma processing.

Ability to promote a cooperative work environment.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Strong preference for proficiency in PeopleSoft Campus Solutions and VA Once. Strong preference for proficiency in query and report writing. Ability to lead a team to facilitate procedural change. Strong technical skills. Knowledge of FERPA and higher education credentials best practice (specifically transcript and diploma processing).
