Reporting to the AVP HR, Benefits & Compensation and the Director of Benefits & Compensation, the assistant is responsible for providing administrative and project management support to the department leadership and members of the team.
Core duties include:
-Overseeing, maintaining and coordinating complex calendars and meeting schedules; coordinating campus wide benefits and compensation related seminars; writing, editing and preparing confidential memos, reports, letters and other documents for final distribution on behalf of the AVP.
-Provide project management assistance to the AVP and Director; managing the budget and logistics for open enrollment fairs, prepare benefits materials, manage web pages for benefits and compensation area; review and approval of dependent verification coverage benefit coverage.
-Monitor Benefits &Compensation budget and related project budgets; generate trend analyses and reports in support of projects; reporting on a monthly basis against the allocation and ensures departmental travel and expense activities are aligned to policy.
-Assists benefits department with service delivery to faculty, staff, and retirees.
The successful candidate has minimum of four or more year's strongly related experience. We seek candidates with superior interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills with the ability to comfortably interact with all levels of the organization, clients, vendors, and other outside agencies. Proven ability to be flexible, handle varied tasks or projects concurrently, able to work autonomously, as well as collaboratively, as a team member and exhibit strong interpersonal skills. Demonstrated analytical skills, detail oriented, excellent judgment and comfortable making decisions under pressure are critical for this role. Proficiency in MS Applications (Outlook, Excel and Project, PowerPoint) and prior experience with website maintenance needed.
-Experience with PeopleSoft.
- Prior experience in the benefits and/or compensation field.
-Specific experience leveraging Excel and/or Access for analytics and reporting.
-Experience with Visio, Roxen or other Web software.
