Position Summary: The Director and College Registrar in the Office of Student Support Services is primarily responsible for overseeing all student services for undergraduate and graduate nursing programs in the College of Nursing. This position directs the daily operations of the Michigan State University College of Nursing Office of Student Support Services and is responsible for developing and implementing plans, policies and procedures that support the achievement of College goals and strategic initiatives related to enrollment management, academic advising and other student services at the undergraduate and graduate level. Responsibilities include oversight and coordination of all operations, management of student records and program data, staff supervision and external and internal communications.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Oversee academic advising for all College of Nursing programs; Participates in and is responsible for supervising and assuring positive outcomes for all operations (e.g. recruitment, admissions, orientations, academic advising, progression, academic actions, degree and Board certifications, commencement, scholarship awards, public relations and communications); Develops and implements operational plans (including the College Enrollment Management Plan), policies, procedures and controls, and implements quality improvement strategies; manages student records and program data and prepares reports. This includes the development and oversight of student record systems, maintaining reports of admission, enrollment, retention, etc. Responsible for annual reporting to accrediting agencies, Board of Nursing, AACN surveys and other reports as requested; Hires, supervises, develops and evaluates staff, including orientation and training related to College academic programs and the advisor role; Responsible for external and internal communication strategies and systems. This includes representing the CON and University committees; participating, as needed, on CON academic program committees; and, developing, maintaining and distributing accurate information to prospective and current students via the CON website, list serves, brochures, handbooks and other materials and events. Assists with the development of new and/or revised language resulting from academic program changes for the University program catalog; Understands and interprets University and College policies, procedures and actions related to enrollment management, academic program requirements and student rights and responsibilities; Communicates University and College policies and procedures to faculty and administrators.

Faculty: Minimum Qualifications Support Staff: Minimum Requirements Master's degree in Student Personnel, Higher Education Administration or related field, three to five years' experience with academic advising of students in a university setting; excellent organization and communication skills; experience implementing and managing large, complex projects/events; progressively more responsible managerial experience, including experience supervising others; and experience working with student information systems/databases.
