Job Description Summary

Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of data in Human Resource Information Systems, performing functions that ensure data integrity and accurate processing and reporting of HR data. This position will serve as a resource to Human Resources, Payroll and other departments and provides back-up to HRIS /Employee Services team members. May assist with HR systems administration.

Job Responsibilities

Enters employee information into HRIS, including new hires, terminations and other employee changes while ensuring data accuracy and integrity

Recognizes data errors; determines and executes appropriate corrective action

May assist with data maintenance and data integrity in recruiting and/or talent management systems

Compiles and verifies source information, and prepares and processes a wide variety of personnel actions maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information

Maintains appropriate records, files, documentation, etc. in accordance with regulatory and institutional standards which may include administration of document imaging for Human Resources

Acts as liaison between Human Resources and Payroll

Supports and provides back up to members of the HRIS team

May prepare and analyze HRIS operational metrics and other special reports; assists in all reporting and data integrity initiatives which may include developing queries and lists

Regularly observes and analyzes business activities and makes recommendations for process improvement

May monitor HRIS task calendar

Organizes and plans work load to ensure data entry tasks are completed accurately and in accordance with established deadlines

Actively involved in cyclical HRIS processes including HRIS upgrades, implementations, integrations, year-end rolls, etc.

May design, create, and maintain HRIS process and procedural documentation

Works accurately and confidently with minimal supervision

Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications


Associate's degree
o Significant related experience may substitute for education

Minimum of three years of Human Resources experience including experience in HRIS transacting and reporting

Demonstrated experience making sound decisions that affect a work unit or team

Demonstrated experience in a role requiring diverse problem solving methods in a variety of situations


Possess excellent organizational and prioritization skills, with demonstrated attention to detail

Ability to be creative and exercise initiative

Possess excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication

Possess working knowledge of Human Resources and Payroll concepts, practices and procedures with the ability to use in varied situations as it pertains to the departmental focus

Ability to confidentially and discreetly handle, produce, and maintain subject matters requiring privacy and sensitivity

Demonstrated ability to consistently maintain a professional and positive demeanor and exceptional customer service

Ability to adjust to changing priorities and respond appropriately to deadlines

Basic-level proficiency with Microsoft Outlook

Intermediate-level proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel (or equivalent spreadsheet applications)

Ability to collaborate, persuade, gain cooperation and acceptance of ideas on significant projects

Ability to collaborate, negotiate and resolve conflicts on major projects

Ability to facilitate top-level collaboration while managing sensitive issues

Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key contacts to enhance work flow and quality

Possess sensitivity to respond appropriately to the needs of a diverse population

Preferred Qualifications


Demonstrated data entry experience

Previous experience in a higher education environment

Prior experience with Banner HR and/or Evisions' Argos


Possess knowledge of current technological developments and trends

Ability to provide technical guidance and instruction to users on the use of computer technologies

Work Schedule

Standard College hours of business 8:30AM - 5:00PM, Monday through Friday
