Job Description Summary
Works under the direction of Plant Operations Manager to plan, coordinate and direct the work activities of the Building Maintenance and Building Service Worker components of the Plant Operations Department.
Responsible for the maintenance, repair, and physical condition of the campus and equipment, including various mechanical and electrical systems
Operates all machinery and equipment necessary to perform duties
Assists in the supervision of contracted work on construction projects
Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment
Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules
Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving problems
Reviews and approves timesheets
Develops thorough knowledge of department operations and procedures
Interprets company policies and enforces safety regulations
Performs other related duties as assigned.
High school diploma or GED
Minimum of five years of relevant work experience in facilities maintenance
Minimum of two years supervisory experience
Knowledge and experience using maintenance tools and equipment in a facilities environment
Good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Computer literate and able to operate Energy Management Control Systems
Valid Ohio Driver's license and ability to meet the College insurability requirements
Skills in keyboarding, basic grammar and math, basic level word processing (MS Word) and basic level spreadsheet applications (MS Excel)
Sensitivity to respond appropriately to the needs of a diverse population.
Associate’s degreePrevious supervisory experience in a bargaining unit environment
Previous experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System
Previous experience using a Computerized Management Controls System.
