Cardiac Electrophysiologist-Clinician Educator
The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine in the Department of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure clinician-educator track. Applicants must have an M.D or M.D./Ph.D. degree. ABIM certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiology; BE/BC in Cardiac Electrophysiology is required. Evidence of scholarship is required in the Clinican-Educator track.
The successful candidate will have training and documented skills in transseptal puncture, implantation of biventricular pacemakers/ICDs, pacemaker including ICD lead extraction. Applicants must also have training and ability to independently perform ablation of supraventricular tachycardia, atrial fibrillation as well as endocardial and epicardial ventricular tachycardia. Extensive knowledge of sophisticated EP mapping and recording systems, including intracardiac echo are required. Research background in atrial and ventricular tachyarrhythmia mechanisms and mapping techniques is highly desired. Supervision of housestaff and cardiology fellows is expected.
