Job description

Duties: Professors at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and Swarthmore College are seeking a highly skilled and driven individual to work as a full-time Research Analyst for at least one year. The start date is subject to negotiation and may be as early as June 2017. The job will entail close collaboration during all stages of empirical research with Professors Hummy Song and Etan Green at The Wharton School and Syon Bhanot at Swarthmore College. Current projects span the fields of behavioral economics, experimental economics, health economics, health care operations management, public policy, and decision making.

Job responsibilities include data collection (e.g., survey creation, web scraping), statistical analysis (using econometric and machine learning tools), and writing research reports.

Position contingent upon funding. Expected start date in July 2017.

Qualifications: Independent thinking; attention to detail; a thorough understanding of economics; strong foundations in computer science, mathematics, and statistics; an ability to write clearly; and self-motivation are highly valued.

Specific Requirements: BA/BS in Economics, Statistics, Finance, Mathematics, Computer Science, or another closely related discipline. Previous experience as a research analyst or pursuing independent research is preferred. Strong programming fundamentals are necessary. Ability to analyze data and write reports is required.

A Bachelor's Degree and 1 to 2 year of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
