Degree and Area of Specialization: A Masters is required, along with an understanding of and commitment to liberal arts education in the context of living-learning community development. Any academic field of specialization is acceptable so long as the candidate shows strong evidence of interest in and training and experience with undergraduate student development, undergraduate teaching & learning, and administration in higher education, as reflected in the below criteria.

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience: Required:
- At least 1 year of professional experience in student affairs/higher education.

Preferred qualifications:
-3 or more years of experience in student affairs/higher education.
-Skilled in working collaboratively with the leadership team focused on developing intentional, student-centered programming.
-Experience with developing and assessing learning outcomes.
- Interest and skill in administration and supervision.
- Excellent oral, written, interpersonal and group communication skills.
- Demonstrated success as college-level instructor.
- Experience working with diverse student populations, including international students.
- Ability to participate enthusiastically in the range of activities associated with an undergraduate learning community, which include evenings each week and occasional weekends.

Position Summary: The Chadbourne Residential College (CRC) Program Director plays a critical role in the management of the CRC academic program. The Assistant Director manages the CRC seminar, teaches a section, and provides supervision to the CRC student mission group staff. The Assistant Director is a member of The College of Letters and Science Student Academic Affairs staff and provides daily support to the CRC Faculty Director while working closely with University Housing?s Residence Life Staff.

CRC is located in Chadbourne and Barnard residence halls and the adjacent Rheta's Dining Market; 719 undergraduates live and learn in the CRC. The Faculty Director, with the assistance of this full-time Assistant Director, residence life and CCAS academic advising staff, collaboratively lead this diverse community dedicated to being a foundation to liberal arts education at UW-Madison.
We are especially interested in receiving applications from persons who have interest in and experience with civic engagement or leadership development programs, social-justice education and programming, undergraduate service learning programs and courses, or with the development and implementation of first year experience programs.
The Assistant Director is primarily supervised by the Faculty Director; secondarily, the residence life Area Coordinator provides day-to-day supervision especially related to the many departments, policies, processes and procedures involved in Housing.
