* This posting is an hourly position and is non-benefits eligible.The COI-Dean's Office at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire a Non-Student Hourly Administrative Specialist I to join our team. Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:* Answer phones, process mail, and file paperwork* Answer questions and give directions to visitors, students, staff, and faculty with diverse backgrounds* Simple data entry (Excel)* Organizing and maintaining the conference room calendar* Collecting and tracking of documents that arrive to the dean's office for signature* Assist office staff with special projects and assignments as necessary* Campus errands (deliver/retrieve materials to other offices between Discovery Park and the main campus)The University of North Texas System is firmly committed to equal opportunity and does not permit - and takes actions to prevent - discrimination, harassment (including sexual violence), and retaliation on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, family status, genetic information, citizenship or veteran status in its application and admission processes, educational programs and activities, facilities, and employment practices. The successful candidate will possess the following required qualifications:* Graduation from High School or GED equivalent and one year of general office or clerical experience. Substitution of education for experience allowed. The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are required:* Skill in evaluating facts or situation to route calls/customers appropriately.* Skill in telephone etiquette and courteous communications with public.* Skill in basic office procedures.* Skill in the use of personal computer/software.* Skill in the operation of a variety of office machines including, personal computers, telephones and copiers.* Skill in basic filing and recordkeeping.
