Position Title Assistant/Associate Professor of Nursing 

Job Description Summary

The position of Assistant/Associate Professor of Nursing is a 10 month, tenure track faculty position in the Department of Nursing within the Math and Sciences Division at East Georgia State College. The position is for someone who desires to provide high quality online, campus lab and clinical instructions in a RN-BSN bridge program. East Georgia State College is one of only two access colleges in the University System of Georgia (USG) providing its students access to both academically transferable programs of study programs and collaborative programs in occupation related fields. The college also offers targeted baccalaureates level degrees that support the University System’s initiatives to expand educational opportunities and to Complete College Georgia.

Major Duties

The candidate seeking this position will report directly to the nursing program Director. The faculty will be responsible for working closely with the program director in developing and implementing the RN-BSN curriculum and seeking initial program accreditation. The faculty will assume teaching responsibilities across the curriculum; with proficiency in the utilization of advanced online technology to deliver curriculum content. The faculty must possess the ability to use student-centered teaching strategies and mentoring to assist the students to reach their academic goal of program completion. Additional essential duties are participation in student advising, supervise students in the clinical setting, hold regular on-campus office hours, and serve on college and community committees.

Knowledge Required by the Position

Master’s degree in Nursing required; hold a doctoral degree in nursing or a closely related field or is currently enrolled in doctoral study preferred. The candidate must have previous teaching experience in a baccalaureate level nursing program either traditional or online delivery. The candidate should also have recent clinical including simulation experience. The faculty must hold or be eligible to hold a current unencumbered Registered Professional Nurse license in the state of Georgia, and a current BLS Healthcare Providers certification.
