General Summary:

Provide individual and group Occupational Therapy services to individuals who have Autism Spectrum Disorder and related diagnoses using appropriate facilitative tools. Provide preventive and educational services that foster effective functioning and general well being.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform assessments and set therapeutic goals based on those assessments.

Provide therapeutic services on an individual or group basis to children, adolescents, and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder and their families, and serve as a referral agent for severe problems.

Consult with University personnel, parents and others as needed in the process of delivering therapies.

Assisting clients in developing facility in everyday activities Helping clients, as appropriate, to develop workplace skills.

Designing and implementing exercises for clients.

Develop and implement appropriate programs to assist clients and their families in their lives.

Keep abreast of in-service training and educational programs in relevant therapeutic area.

Maintain continuing education requirements for certification and licensure.

Prepare write-ups, reports, treatment plans, and complete clinical documentation in a timely manner.

Please note: This is a temporary part-time position covering an FMLA maternity leave (approximate coverage July - October). Qualifications:

A Master's degree in Occupational Therapy is necessary.

Michigan License and National Certification for Occupational Therapy is necessary.

One year of experience with individuals on the Autism Spectrum and their families is necessary.

Ability to work within an interdisciplinary team approach is desirable.

Experience or knowledge of group facilitation and education is desirable.
