Applicants are expected to possess expertise in fashion and/ or textile design. The candidate should have excellent communication skills, and will contribute to the teaching and research profile of the Fashion department at UDEM - University of Monterrey, located in Monterrey, Mexico, that offers a BA in Textile and Fashion Design. The appointee will be expected to contribute with the development of undergraduate fashion/ textile design courses. Research emphasis may be in any area complimentary to current faculty. It would be required to establish a program of scholarly activity and publish in area of expertise that coordinates with the department and university goals. It is necessary to provide academic leadership and promote research and other forms of creative productions. Seek outside funding for research and develop ties with local textile and fashion companies. Increase the University's visibility and strength its international connections. Contribute to the program and the department's administration. Supervise and mentor research and thesis students. 


  • A PhD or a MFA is required.
  • A degree in textiles and clothing, or related field, teaching experience at the university or college level and successful work experience in a related area is essential.

Appointment: This is a full-time position with teaching, research and administrative responsibilities at the rank of assistant or associate professor. Starting date is January 2016.
