Senior Business Relationship Manager
The Senior Business Relationship Manager serves as the strategic interface with divisional leadership for the express purpose of business/academic-IT strategy development, solution discovery, risk management, and relationship management. This position provides strategic consulting support and guidance through institutional IT initiatives. The Senior Business Relationship Manager serves as a trusted adviser for academic/business units and advocates on behalf of the academic/business units to ensure that IT services meet their academic/business priorities and needs. This position reports to the Director of the Project Management Office of ITS.
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business or related field required. Ten years of varying internal/external IT experience including working with various business units outside of IT environment. Experience successfully leading large, complex projects and/or business/IT consulting/management roles. Requires leadership and negotiation skills and experience/in-depth knowledge of higher education academic/business activities, business requirements, and IT processes Ability to work autonomously and lead teams.
Must have broad experience across multiple IT fields. Strong MS Office suite skills. Advanced verbal and written communications skills and effectiveness and comfort level with presentations to multiple levels of an organization. Expert understanding of complex IT enterprises and knowledge of enterprise functionality, effectiveness, efficiency, and applications. Ability to process and blend multiple disciplines (i.e. technical, financial, operational, etc.) to provide high-level consultations and recommendations to senior management and campus stakeholders. Must be able to lead and manage team of Business Systems Analysts in daily job duties.
Master's Degree (preferred) in Information Technology, Business or related field. Experience working in Higher Education IT preferred. PMP Certification Preferred.
Must be able to traverse to locations across large campus in a timely manner;
This position is expected to comply with the University's standard working hours. In addition, this position must be available outside of normal working hours, including nights and weekends, to complete routine system maintenance, respond to emergency system outages, or serve in the department 7×24 on call rotation.
