The Biostatistics Center of the Milken Institute School of Public Health is seeking a tenured faculty member as its Director. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to help shape the vision of and provide leadership to the Center, while also enhancing the quality of the Center's medical research through methodological scholarship. The Center coordinates large-scale multi-center clinical trials and epidemiological studies with annual funding of approximately $65 million across several major projects. The academic appointment of the Director, as Professor or Associate Professor, will be in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics in the Milken Institute School of Public Health.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

Core responsibilities of the position will be to serve as the Director of the Biostatistics Center and Principal Investigator or Co-Investigator on one or more major projects of the Biostatistics Center and contribute to the academic mission of the University as Professor or Associate Professor in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics.

We expect the candidate to create collaborative environments, both within the Biostatistics Center and among multiple University Centers as well as with government researchers.

Minimum Qualifications:

Doctorate in statistics, biostatistics or epidemiology or equivalent doctoral educational attainment; an established program of research; and a strong national or international reputation supported by a significant record of developing innovative statistical, biostatistical, or epidemiological methods. Biostatistical or epidemiological leadership and experience managing large medical research projects. Proven track record in developing and securing funding for clinical trials and/or population-based epidemiological studies in university, governmental or non-governmental settings. Applicants should also have a solid pedagogical record in one or more areas of teaching, advising, or mentoring.
