Posting Summary:
UVA's Department of Urology seeks applicants for the position of Mellon Administrator/Grant Administrator. This position will be responsible for the Paul Mellon Urologic Institute funding. This position will provide a high level of business administration for the gift funds and provide strategic partnership with the co-directors of the Mellon Institute. The incumbent will oversee business management practices, planning mechanisms, and control systems for this center. They will organize and analyze information to ensure a clear understanding of the center's operations. In addition, they will enhance the control systems for expenditures and fund and monitor projects, manage commitment-accounting systems, and develop a management-reporting system.

A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent with a minimum of three years of experience is required, including direct experience in finance, accounting, or grants management and business administration. A Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Accounting, Statistics, or Finance is preferred. Experience in grants management along with experience supervising or leading others is also preferred.

Ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.
Ability to interact with faculty and staff that have diverse ideas and opinions and negotiate successful resolutions.
Ability to communicate information and ideas in writing so others will understand.
Knowledge of principles and practices of grant administration.
Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices and the analysis and reporting of financial data.
Interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of computer software applications.
Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.
