University of North Texas - Cashiering Manager
The Student Finance Department at the University of North Texas System Administration is seeking to hire a Cashiering Manager to join our team. The Cashiering Manager is responsible for the overall management of cashiering related to student tuition and fee payments for UNT System. Performs moderately complex (senior-level) supervisory work. Work involves assisting in establishing goals and objectives; assisting in developing guidelines, procedures, policies, rules, and regulations; assisting in developing schedules, priorities, and standards for achieving goals; and assisting in evaluating activities. Supervises the work of cashiers and cashiering operations. Works under general supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:* Supervise and direct the collection and recording of incoming funds for all UNT System campus locations.* Ensure Payment Card Industry Security Standards are maintained within the department and assist other departments when needed.* Provide supervision, instruction, guidelines and procedures for cashiers who receive and record revenue and payments on accounts.* Provide guidance, investigate errors and assist in resolving and/or resolves problems in daily reconciliation of cash transactions, credit card payments and various clearing accounts.* Maintain system historical records and source documents on deposits and receivables for support and review with departments, internal and external auditors.* Develop daily and monthly reconciliation procedures and programs wIth General Accounting to help resolve and correct any discrepancies.* Prepare year-end closing information for deposit accounts required by GASB.* Assist in preparing necessary reports, schedules and footnotes required for fiscal year-end financial statements.* Establish and implement policies, goals, objectives, and procedures for the department.* Review needs for staff training and establishes training programs.* Develop and review cashiering operating procedures to increase efficiency.* Frequent travel (40%) to UNT Dallas and UNT Health Science Center.The University of North Texas System is firmly committed to equal opportunity and does not permit - and takes actions to prevent - discrimination, harassment (including sexual violence), and retaliation on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, family status, genetic information, citizenship or veteran status in its application and admission processes, educational programs and activities, facilities, and employment practices. The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field and three years of experience; or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training. The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are required:* Knowledge of basic and specialized cashiering functions.* Experience supervising financial, teller, cashiering, or equivalent operations.* Knowledge of applicable state and federal regulatory requirements for financial transactions.* Knowledge of effective supervisory methods and techniques and how to establish and maintain operational schedules.* Ability to plan, assign and supervise the work of subordinates.* Skill in training employees on routine and complex customer transactions.* Ability to perform analytical calculations and solve difficult problems.* Ability to develop an effective team and provide excellent customer service.* Excellent communication skills (writing, oral and listening).* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.* Knowledge of appropriate safety and security precautions appropriate to work performed.
