Primary Function of Organization Unit: The primary function of the Department of Registration and Records is to support the mission of NC State University by providing effective academic services to students, faculty, staff and alumni while maintaining security and confidentiality of data.
Essential Job Duties: This position serves as a Student Services Representative in Registration and Records. This position is responsible for assisting with Non-Degree Studies application processing, registration, enrollment and degree certification, grading, and transcript production. This position will accurately and efficiently process permanent records transactions to student records. This position must ensure records maintenance and integrity at all times. This position also serves as a resource to campus on policies, regulation and processes that impact student registration and records. This position is responsible for supporting the day to day operations of the Department of Registration and Records by answering inquires by phone and in person. This position will use a variety of technology and software to deliver these services to students, faculty and staff. The position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, excellent customer service and organizational skills, the ability to handle stress, changing priorities and multiple projects with competing interests for time.
Department Required Skills: Excellent customer service skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel)or similar software packages. Efficient keyboarding skills.
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education: Experience in higher education, preferably records, registration and scheduling. Familiarity with the operations of a registrar's office and understanding of university academic, curricular, and legal policies (FERPA) that pertain to the functions of a registrar's office.
