The Division of Vascular Surgery at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and the University of Toronto are inviting applications for the position of a vascular surgeon and clinician- scientist with expertise in clinical outcomes research. The appropriate candidate would be eligible for appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor. The effective date of this appointment is flexible, tentatively aiming for mid-2016.
We seek a full-time faculty surgeon with fellowship training in vascular surgery to fulfill a 40% research, and 60% clinical position. The successful candidate will possess a strong track record and a PhD, preferably in the area of outcomes research to complement our strong clinical and evaluative science program. Evidence of excellence in research and teaching is required. The candidate will be responsible for developing an independent clinical outcomes and trials research program in alignment with Sunnybrook's strategic plan. Clinically, the successful candidate will spend approximately 60% of their time providing comprehensive vascular surgical care in a teaching environment with learners ranging from medical students to fellows.
The candidate must be eligible for appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor University of Toronto, be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians, Surgeons of Canada and be licensed with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. The candidate must also be eligible for appointment in the Sunnybrook Research Institute.
