Assistant Professor-English/New Media Writing
Viterbo University's College of Arts and Letters invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position in English-new media writing and publication. The successful candidate will teach first-and second-year writing classes, will serve as a resource in multimodal writing for department colleagues and the core curriculum, and will oversee the campus newspaper. This is a 4/4 teaching load position.
Qualifications: PhD in English at the time of appointment with specialization in composition and rhetoric, journalism, or a related area. Demonstrable experience in teaching written composition, multimodal composition, and directing campus publications. Strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and scholarship appropriate to a tenure-track position. Qualification and interest in teaching American literature (before 1865) desired.
Rank and Salary: Appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor. Nine-month academic year appointment beginning August 2017. Salary is competitive with other private, liberal arts institutions of similar size.
