The Georgia Cancer Center, as part of Augusta University and the Medical College of Georgia, seeks outstanding senior faculty at the level of Associate or Full professor working in the general area of experimental therapeutics. Applicants must have active extramural research funding, ideally from NCI, a strong track record of independent research and preferably experience working in an NCI designated Cancer Center. Successful applicants will join a collaborative program that works closely to promote translational research with the clinical research oncologists. Targeted areas include, but are not limited to, drug discovery, combination therapies and mechanisms, drug modeling and novel biologics. Current activities in the GCC include studies of natural product therapeutics as well as small molecule inhibitors and stapled peptides, which are being evaluated in a variety of preclinical models. State-of-the-art laboratory space is available in the recently constructed Cancer Research Building and outstanding facilities for executing clinical trials are available.
PhD or equivalent and four years' experience as an Assistant Professor
