Summary of Position:
The Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry (www.uncw.edu/chem) invites applications for an NMR and MS research/facilities director with demonstrated technical expertise in one or both techniques. A Ph.D. in chemistry or closely related field is required. The start date is as early as April 2017, but is negotiable. The department has 600 and 300 MHz NMR’s along with high and low-resolution mass spectrometers. The successful candidate is expected to train and supervise NMR and MS users as well as maintain the instrumentation. In addition, the candidate will perform NMR and MS experiments for faculty and students in the context of independent or collaborative research with faculty. Involvement in teaching, particularly in our graduate NMR/MS course is expected. Review of applications will begin March 30, 2017 and continue until the position is filled. Minimum Requirements:
Ph.D. in chemistry, biochemistry or related field. ABD’s will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated NMR or MS expertice and experience and the ability to assist students and faculty in a research and teaching environment.
