The business office supports all financial aspects of the Friday Institute.
Essential Job Duties: The Accounting Technician in the Friday Institute Business Office is a higher level versatile position that provides a wide array of fiscal support and assistance on topics such as purchasing, contracts, A/P and A/R. The incumbent reports directly to the FI Business Officer and acts as the unit's Purchasing Specialist, Purchase Card Reconciler, and College Level Approver for non-ledger 5 accounts. This Specialist works closely with faculty and staff and offers guidance on NCSU policies and procedures. This includes ensuring compliance, interpreting guidelines, and providing customer support on all financial related matters.
Department Required Skills: Must exhibit initiative, a high level of trust and confidentiality. Strong interpersonal skills, and excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be self-motivated, highly organized, and have the ability to work in a fast paced, ever-changing environment. Attention to detail is essential in this position.
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education: Bachelor's Degree with one year of related experience or Associates' Degree and three years of related experience preferably in a higher education environment. Knowledge of NCSU Spending Guidelines and Purchasing Processes & Procedures
