About The Unit: The College Pathway Program in Economics seeks to hire Teaching Assistants. Please see our website for information about this program: https://summer.uchicago.edu/pathway. *Applicants must agree to teach in both Session I (June 26-July 14) and Session II (July 17-August 4) of the College Pathway Program.

Unit Job Summary: Responsibilities: - Attend 1-hour lectures Monday through Friday delivered by faculty in the Economics Department. - Plan and lead 1-hour discussion section(s) Monday through Friday based on faculty lectures and assigned readings. - Run lab sessions. - Attend 1-hour daily check-in lunches with other Teaching Assistants. - Attend Program planning meetings as needed. - Prepare 15-30 qualitative student evaluations prepared by Teaching Assistants - Teaching Assistants will be required to work 15 to 20 hours a week (including class prep time). Teaching assistants will also be required to attend and participate in program planning and course development meetings.

Unit Education: -Bachelor's Degree Required. -Successful completion of a calculus course and a basic understanding of statistics required.

Unit Experience: Ability to foster classroom discussion around lectures and reading materials. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Lecture and/or demonstration related experience preferred.
