Job Description
Conducts undergraduate nursing student advisement, participates in recruitment and orientation activities, and maintains an accurate record of advising and maintains student databases.

Conducts academic advisement for undergraduate nursing students to promote student development. Participates in advising training to keep up-to-date on university and college policy, advising techniques, resources, etc.

Manages undergraduate nursing student academic data related to progression, probation, and attrition, etc. Manages regular inquiries about the undergraduate program, maintains accurate records of advising, and ensures confidentiality of student records. Responsible for monitoring student progress towards upper division and completion of degree. Utilizes technology and resources that enable efficient and effective advising and monitoring.

Conducts regularly scheduled prospective student information sessions through individual and group appointments as well as on-line. Conducts freshman and transfer student orientation. Assists with other student affairs activities, i.e., convocation, job fair, senior pictures, recruitment events, upper division orientation, stethoscope ceremonies, open house, etc.

Serves as campus resource for undergraduate nursing student recruitment events and services/activities.

Provides data for surveys, questionnaires, grants, and other reports on request. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Masters degree in Student Personnel Services or related field and 2 years related experience, or bachelor's degree and 4 years related experience.

Knowledge of undergraduate nursing program requirements and university policies affecting student matriculation and progression, skill in using Microsoft Word, Excel and Access, Banner, EAB, and other database systems; ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with faculty, staff, students, and the general public; skill in presenting to both small and large groups.
