Curry College seeks a creative and strategic information leader as Chief Information Officer (CIO). Founded in 1879, Curry College is a private, four-year, liberal arts-based institution located on a wooded 131-acre campus in Milton, MA just seven miles from downtown Boston. The incoming CIO will oversee the delivery of information technology services and play a critical role at Curry College by providing consistent, reliable and innovative academic and administrative technological support to further the college’s mission and goals. Curry College seeks a visionary, action-oriented leader to guide innovation across the College and manage strategic initiatives for information technology, improving the sharing of information, while providing the best customer service to the College community.

Reporting to the Provost, the new CIO will head Information Technology (IT) and partner with senior leadership in continuing the strategic direction for the College, gauging and anticipating the diverse information technology needs of the College’s constituents and monitoring trends and innovations in the industry that can meet those needs. The College currently operates under a Banner ERP system. The CIO leads a 12-person staff.

The ideal candidate will be an energetic and clear communicator who is adept at collaborating with various constituencies and possess outstanding people, project, and process management skills. Along with successful senior-level experience as an IT leader, preferably in an academic setting of comparable complexity, s/he will bring an expansive vision of the potential of IT to enhance the mission of the College. 

Minimum Qualifications for this position: A Master’s degree from an accredited institution in Business Administration or Information Systems; a minimum of ten years of progressively responsible computer systems experience, with management experience and current technical acumen in at least one of these areas: IT Infrastructure Services or Applications Development and Support Services; up-to-date working knowledge of computer, data and network security as it relates to College or University operations; Knowledge and understanding of the principles, processes and requirements for strategic planning and development within a private institution; skills in business and financial planning and management; demonstrated knowledge, understanding and a record of achievement in information systems management within a large, diverse multipurpose institution; skill in examining and re-engineering information technology organizations, including: formulating policy, developing and implementing new strategies and re-architecting operating units and procedures.
