Field Service Engineer -- Power Electronic Systems
This is both a DIRECT HIRE and an IMMEDIATE NEED!
Our customer, a nationally respected manufacturer of three phase distributed power equipment has an immediate need for a Field Service Engineer to be based out of the Dallas area.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum 5 years of experience testing, troubleshooting and repairing large scale, high power / high current power systems. We are especially interested in candidates with experience gained from one of the following industries: industrial power, high horse powered IGBT controlled AC drives, power generation, electrical distribution, power conditioning or industrial backup power.
Along with the above, we are also VERY interested in talking with military veterans who have experience working on and repairing high powered weapons, controls, ship and submarine systems.
> Be highly motivated.
> Installing, testing and troubleshooting a variety of three phase distributed and industrial power systems and related equipment.
> Have experience testing, troubleshooting and repairing - to the circuit level - all levels of supporting power electronics and control systems. .
> Understand and/or have direct safety training in lockout, tagout and other related power equipment safety procedures, etc.
> Experience working with Industrial Controls including PLCs and SCADA systems; high speed communication protocols, etc.
> A willingness and ability to work overtime.
>The ability to travel 80% of the time domestically is required. As this company continues to build market share in this area, the level of national travel should decrease. (Company provides travel bonuses over and above hourly pay and also pays all travel related expenses.
> Able to work independently and in a team setting
> Possess excellent communication skills as this position requires frequent customer interaction.
> Must have a valid driver's license and the ability to obtain hotel rooms, rental cars if needed. Note: all travel expenses are company paid.
> A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering OR an Associate's Degree in Electronics OR previous Military experience.
> Demonstrated understanding working with industrial-level power system controls, quality circuits and related power electronic sub-systems
> Demonstrated experience using automated and manual testing equipment such as O-scopes, Voltmeters, hipot, and other related electronic test equipment.
