The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Department of Neurology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure research track. The successful applicant will have experience in the field of Neurology with a focus on Pediatric Neurodegenerative Disease, specifically Friedreich Ataxia (FRDA). Responsibilities include developing and testing therapeutic approaches to Friedreich ataxia, immunochemical imaging, and design and conduct of in vivo preclinical research in FRDA; participation as an active member of the interdisciplinary research team; and development of an independent research program involving novel approaches including cellular ad murine models of disease. Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree and have demonstrated excellent qualifications in research.

The applicant should have significant experience with immunocytochemical and biochemical approaches to study of degenerative disease. Experience with electrophysiology is beneficial but not required. The applicant should also have an excellent publication record.
