Job Description

3.1.11.1. Responsibilities
3.1.11.1.1. Coordinate with IT Rail Operations Computer Support (ROCS) projects with project management, engineering, maintenance, QA, and risk management
3.1.11.1.2. Plan, coordinate, and monitor IT ROCS project activities
3.1.11.1.3. Develop technical applications to support users
3.1.11.1.4. Develop, implement, maintain and enforce documented standards and procedures for the design, development, installation, modification, and documentation of assigned systems
3.1.11.1.5. Provide training for system products and procedures; Perform application upgrades
3.1.11.1.6. Perform, monitoring, maintenance, or reporting on real-time databases, real-time network and serial data communications, and real-time graphics and logic applications
3.1.11.1.7. Troubleshoot problems in SCADA systems
3.1.11.1.8. Maintain Automatic Train Supervisory System, Passenger Information Display System, Rail Performance Monitoring System, and predictors
3.1.11.1.9. Ensure project life-cycle is in compliance with WMATA standards and procedures

3.1.11.2. Minimum Requirements
3.1.11.2.1. Experience with highly technical applications software development work in support of real-time information systems implemented in the Windows and UNIX environments
3.1.11.2.2. Senior-level professional knowledge with technical experience and project leadership in the design, development and maintenance of a real-time computer system critical to Rail Operations
3.1.11.2.3. Thorough knowledge of C/C++, system programming on UNIX and/or Windows Cluster on a high availability system designed for real-time processing
3.1.11.2.4. Experience in .NET programming languages, design, web technologies, web-based computing environments and testing methodologies
3.1.11.2.5. Knowledge of the full product life cycle with experience in requirements analysis, test plan and test case development
3.1.11.2.6. Experience using Visual Studio, .NET, VB.NET, XML/XSL and SQL
3.1.11.2.7. Strong Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server 2008/2012 skills with in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows Networking, ADS, Microsoft Clustering, TCP/IP, HTTP and Microsoft IIS
3.1.11.2.8. Experience in test automation and build management tools (Vault, etc.)
3.1.11.2.9. Relevant experience in a senior technical role

3.1.11.3. Experience Levels
3.1.11.3.1. Senior level, with six (6) or more years of progressively responsible experience in the development of large scale application systems in a client/server environment
