Primary Function of Organization Unit: North Carolina State University's Poole College of Management educates tomorrow's leaders through the University's active integration of teaching, research, and engagement. The College creates an innovative and intellectual environment with a focus on leadership and management in a technology-rich, global marketplace. At the undergraduate level, the Department of Economics offers B.A. and B.S. degrees in Economics and a B.S. in Economics with a Concentration in Business Economics. The department also offers a Master's of Economics degree as well as a Ph.D. in Economics. Fields of concentration include Econometrics, Microeconomics/IO, Environmental Economics, Macroeconomics, Finance, and International Economics.
Essential Job Duties: The Department of Economics seeks to fill one non-tenure track position subject to budgetary contingencies. The appointment will begin in August 2017. Responsibilities include conducting publishable research in high-quality, refereed scholarly journals in the candidate's area of expertise; advising graduate students on their dissertation research; organizing and participating in the department's scholarly seminar series; and teaching up to two sections of undergraduate or graduate economics per academic year.
Minimum Education/Experience: Requires PhD, an equivalent degree, or equivalent professional experience.
Department Required Skills: Candidates must have experience conducting high-quality research.
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education: Candidates may be required to give evidence of high-quality research, including working papers. Previous experience teaching economics preferred.
