Duties: This position, reporting directly to the Associate Director of the Department, will be tasked with coordinating most of the Departmental external interactions. The role will be the central coordinator for all Department related divisional seminar series. The individual will help manage international collaboration arrangements and interactions with faculty and visitors required to ensure high quality experiences with the Department including orientation. The coordinator will also support and promote all departmental scientific outreach opportunities generated by faculty, instructors and student groups.
The individual in this position will be responsible for scheduling hotel, food, and other arrangements regarding visitors, management of the actual seminar events (AV, timing, publicizing), following up on reimbursements and other issues as they arise, and managing the website portal dedicated to events, community and outreach. As relevant the position will also support alumni outreach efforts of the Associate Director. High-level administrative support to Departmental faculty and their research groups will also be required.
Qualifications: A High School Degree and 5 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, is required. Bachelor's degree and 3 to 5 years of experience is preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as excellent organizational skills are required. The ability to manage multiple tasks and meet demanding deadlines is required. Strong initiative and ability to work independently as well as with a team are essential. Computer proficiency essential including MS Office.
