The Department of Medicine at University of Virginia Health System, Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, is seeking an energetic leader. The Division Chief role is a tenure track position at the rank of Professor. The Division Chief will lead the Division to achieve excellence in our missions of research, education and clinical care as well as mentor and develop faculty members and lead workforce planning efforts, including retention and recruitment. The University of Virginia Health System is the top ranked hospital in Virginia.

The selected candidate must have a commitment to clinical excellence, research and education. An MD or equivalent degree is required. Candidates must be board certified in Pulmonary Medicine. The successful candidate will also be responsible for developing an independent clinical or health services research program. The successful candidate is expected to devote their efforts to direct clinical services, attend on inpatient and outpatient services at the University of Virginia Health System, and participate in multidisciplinary team care and clinical research. In addition, the successful candidate must actively participate in the teaching of fellows, residents, and medical students.
