IT Senior Help Desk/Network Consultant
ProActive IT Solutions is a growing I.T. services provider and consulting firm in the Chicago area, and is expanding it's technical team to support clients in our flagship support program, ProActive IT Support. We are seeking a qualified individual that can operate in a dual role as a Senior IT Consultant and our Director of Technical Services/Service Desk manager to support our team of Small-Medium Business engineers. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced consultant who knows how to deliver support to SMB clients.

This position involves servicing and supporting users of computer networks in the 20-200 user range which utilize Networking technologies, Security products, Data protection systems, Communications devices. 2nd/3rd level help desk support is an element of this position, as well as some travel to client sites in the Chicago area to perform on-site work when remote access is not an option. Currently approximately 70% of our services are performed from our offices.
You would work alongside our TOP industry consultants implementing leading edge technologies that will logarithmically expand your knowledge/skill set and significantly improve the depth of your credentials. Since we are involved in so many exciting, early-adoption projects, our consultants learn about 3-5(x) the average job would teach during your tenure. In short, this job will be very, very good for your skill set.
To be successful you MUST have a MINIMUM 3 years professional experience servicing and supporting small and medium business networks and/or products, have managed technical teams for at least 1 year and work in managed services or consulting industries. Ideally you would be familiar with LAN, WAN and VoIP technologies. Serious professionals with strong credentials will only be considered. Consultative, solution-oriented experience is essential to this position. Excellent time management skills are required.
Must have in depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows desktop and server operating systems and applications, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SQL Server, Cisco routers and VoIP communications and security products, Symantec security and data protection technologies, and HP and Dell server and desktop hardware. Microsoft or Cisco certification is a plus. Managed services experience with Connectwise or LabTech are also a plus.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, along with highly effective time management and interpersonal skills are a requirement.

You must have permanent authorization to work in the USA for any employer. No visa sponsorship is available. Salary is commensurate with abilities and experience, position will offer at least $60,000/year.
