The Diagnostic Sciences Department of the School of Health Professions is offering a full time benefit eligible position as an Assistant/Associate Clinical Professor in the Nuclear Medicine Technology Program as the program’s Clinical Coordinator.
Duties include but are not limited to: Organizing and maintaining evaluations of students throughout their clinical rotations; serving as a member of the Nuclear Medicine Advisory Committee and Nuclear Medicine Admissions Committee; organizing quarterly radiation safety meetings with professional phase students; conducting regular evaluation meetings with students and their clinical preceptors to gauge their progress; organizing the clinical schedules for program students; and, delivering the program’s didactic content to the professional phase students.
The Nuclear Medicine Technology Program emphasizes teaching excellence resulting in highly sought-after graduates with a consistent 100% pass rate on national board exams. This program includes clinical experiences spanning a wide variety of settings which includes central radiopharmacy, PET centers, multiple large research hospitals, and smaller rural hospitals. Further, the Missouri University Research Reactor (MURR) provides unique opportunities for this program’s students. As the highest flux research reactor in the United States, the reactor supports a cadre of expert radiation scientists that span multiple disciplines and this expertise is a significant asset to the quality of instruction received by our students. This program is one of five programs in the Clinical & Diagnostic Sciences Department, which values a collegial environment that supports the intellectual and professional growth of students and faculty. The Clinical & Diagnostic Sciences Department is one of five departments within the School of Health Professions, a rapidly expanding school within the University of Missouri.
Applicants must be American Registry of Radiologic Technologists [ARRT (N)] registered or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) certified; with two years or more of full time clinical experience; with an additional two years (or greater) experience as an instructor in a Joint Review Committee on Educational Programs in Nuclear Medicine Technology (JRCNMT) accredited program. At minimum a master’s degree is required with those enrolled in, or who have completed a doctoral degree being preferred.
