Assistant or Associate Professor Digital Media Design/Television Production
The Department of Communication, Media & Theatre at Muskingum University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Digital Media Design/Television Production
at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, beginning the Fall semester of 2017.
The successful candidate will be able to teach undergraduate courses in a diverse interdisciplinary program that emphasizes convergent technology skills used in digital storytelling. The University seeks a candidate whose teaching focuses on new media technologies from both the theoretical and practical perspectives. Courses may include — but are not limited to — Video Production, Audio Production, Television Studio Production, Interactive Design, Web Design, Graphic Design, Social Media Strategy, and Visual Communication. The ability to teach courses within the candidate’s specific area of specialization, or those that are of service to the department or general curriculum, is also desirable. The candidate will also be expected to manage student media productions, TV studio oversight, student internships, and the maintaining of standards of professional conduct and ethics appropriate to the media profession.
Candidates should be in possession of an appropriate terminal degree by the date of appointment (ABD with imminent date of completion may also be considered). Individuals with professional experience in new media and/or design are preferred.
Appointment to this position is conditional upon the successful completion of a background check through the University's background check agency.
