The teaching assignment may be at the Liberal Arts campus, the Pacific Coast campus or other college teaching locations. The assignment may be day, evening, weekend, online or off campus and is subject to change as needed. Part-time faculty positions are as needed positions and do not accrue rights to tenure. Part-time faculty positions offer flexible hours and the opportunity to assist a diverse group of adult students in achieving their educational goals. Minimum Qualifications:1. Master's degree in rehabilitation counseling; OR2. Master's degree in special education, and twenty-four or more semester units in upper division or graduate level course work in counseling, guidance, student personnel psychology, or social work; OR3. Master's degree in counseling, guidance, student personnel, psychology, career development, or social welfare; and either twelve or more semester units in upper division or graduate level course work specifically in counseling or rehabilitation of individuals with disabilities, or two years of full-time experience, or the equivalent, in one or more of the following: a) Counseling or guidance for students with disabilities; or b) counseling and/or guidance in industry, government, public agencies, militaryor private social welfare organizations in which the responsibilities of the position were predominantly or exclusively for persons with disabilities; OR4. A combination of appropriate master's degree, coursework, and experience to meet requirements for service as a DSPS Specialist as provided under Title 5 regulations, section 53414; OR5. A current California Community College Credential that permits full time service as a DSPS Specialist; OR6. The equivalent.
