The Curry School of Education's Department of Curriculum, Instruction and Special Education seeks applicants for the CISE Spencer Research Specialist. The CISE Spencer Research Specialist supports the Spencer Project which is a longitudinal study of elementary teacher preparation. The incumbent is responsible for coordination of school visits, video recording instruction, conducting interviews, and data verification and entry. Travel to schools around the Commonwealth of Virginia is required.
This is a restricted position. Continuation is dependent on satisfactory performance and the availability of funding.
A Bachelor's degree in a social science or related discipline is required. Some experience with teacher observation, interviewing, and data collection is preferred. Outstanding interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are essential. Familiarity with survey research and basic interviewing skills are also required.
