Posting Information: The Assistant General Counsel/Chief Compliance Officer reports to the General Counsel, with dotted line reporting relationships to the Chancellor and to the Finance and Audit Committee of the Board of Trustees pertaining to compliance matters. The Assistant General Counsel/Chief Compliance Officer supports the General Counsel and functions as a generalist, providing services in a variety of subject areas routinely handled by the Legal Counsel Office. Areas of responsibility may include business transactions, contracts, FCC, policy development and review, compliance, risk management, construction, real estate, and utilities.

Minimum Training & Experience Requirements: Juris doctorate or the equivalent from a school or college of law accredited by the American Bar Association One to three years of experience as a practicing attorney North Carolina State Bar membership in good standing or licensure in good standing in another state on the date of initial employment and licensure to practice law in North Carolina within one year following the date of initial employment.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience and proven success as legal counsel to a public institution of higher education.
