The Cancer Control Specialist I is responsible for working with a District Cancer Council in planning, implementing, and evaluating cancer prevention and control activities in the Lake Cumberland Area Development District. Responsibilities will include providing cancer prevention and control education and outreach services. The position will establish and maintain community cancer coalitions, cancer control partnerships and networks. Frequent travel and some evening and weekend work is required. This is a community-based position and requires that the individual reside within the Lake Cumberland Area Development District and work from a home office. Requires skills in cancer control practice, program planning, implementation and evaluation. Skills are also essential in communication, public speaking, teamwork, initiative, dependability and organization.
