The Office of Student Affairs has an opening for a full-time University Staff (unclassified) Student Affairs Specialist position.
Jobs in this career family provide direct professional support for the teaching and/or educational service mission of the university. Functions include academic advising/counseling, student personnel administration, recruitment and admissions, registration, financial aid, faculty affairs, library services, curriculum administration, and others involving direct support of the educational mission of an academic unit.
Professionals at the entry level are responsible for exercising discretion, analytical skill, personal accountability and responsibility in a wide range of areas including academic, administrative, managerial and student services functions. Work involves creating, integrating, applying and sharing knowledge directly related to a professional field.
At the entry level, duties are limited in scope and are performed with guidance and direction from other professionals and are performed in a training and development capacity.
The Student Affairs Specialist will attend recruitment-related events and projects, and work collaboratively with the school's faculty and staff to promote the school and design innovative activities to attract new students. More specifically, the Student Affairs Specialist's primary responsibilities include enrollment management activities such as serving as the point of contact for prospective students, monitoring admissions numbers, communicating admissions decisions, collecting enrollment documents, planning and hosting prospective student visit days, conducting information sessions and new student orientation, and matriculating students into the Colorado School of Public Health. In addition, the Student Affairs Specialist will be involved in co-curricular student development activities that support student engagement in the ColoradoSPH. These activities may involve student leadership groups, diversity and inclusion, ColoradoSPH awards and scholarships and student activities.
Salary and Benefits:
The salary range for this full-time position has been established at $34,106 to $56,844 and is commensurate with skills and experience.

A bachelor's degree in education, psychology, business, public administration, health care, educational technology, social science, liberal arts, communications, accounting, finance, library science, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.
- Specific experience in the areas of admissions, recruitment, enrollment management, application processing, orientation, registrar, financial aid, or related field
- Experience working with student records systems, customer management systems, databases, or related
- Demonstrated experience in administrative support, including customer/student service, budget/financials, or related
- Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
- Outstanding customer service skills.
- Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion.
- Knowledge of higher education recruitment, admissions, administration
- Technical skill and prior experience working with student information systems and Databases.
