Job Summary The Network Specialist has primary responsibility for the administration and management of enterprise messaging technologies and servers. Reporting to the Associate Director for Network Services, the successful candidate will have experience with, and provide secondary support for, virtualization, SAN hardware management, and other key network-based services. Working closely with colleagues within, and external to, Information Technology Services, the Network Specialist will provide consultancy and expert support for mission-critical projects and initiatives. Minimum Qualifications An Associate’s degree (A. A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school and at least five years of relevant experience; or significant, demonstrated, and appropriate technical experience required.
Demonstrated experience with Microsoft collaborative messaging technologies including Office 365 (email) administration, Active Directory, Active Directory Federated Services, Microsoft server operating systems, Linux operating systems, VMware virtual data center technologies, and VMware desktop virtualization technologies.
Applicants seeking a more senior role will have a Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university (or significant, demonstrated, and appropriate technical experience), have seven or more years of relevant experience, and demonstrated operational expertise in the design, implementation, and support of collaborative messaging technologies in the enterprise; performing maintenance procedures for Windows and Linux operating systems; writing test and integration plans; documenting issues and resolutions for future reference; performing system analysis and design in a high availability environment; installing enterprise level virtual systems; and monitoring, maintaining, and repairing all virtual IT Systems.
