TITLE OF POSITION/RANK: Instructor of Health Information Technology (Tenure Track)
RESPONSIBILITIES: The Department of Health Information Technology is seeking a full-time Instructor to direct and teach in the certificate programs in Medical Billing & Medical Coding as well as in an Associate Degree’s in Health Information Technology. Teaching responsibilities include classroom lecture, college lab, and clinical instruction for both the certificate and the degree programs. Faculty members are expected to participate actively in both departmental and college wide committees, as well as demonstrate professional development. Faculty are required to teach 15 hours a week and hold a minimum of 5 office hours per week.
QUALIFICATIONS: A Master’s degree in a health related field, 1 year of teaching experience, and an active RHIA credential are required; at least 3 years of teaching experience and 10+ years actively working in the field is strongly preferred. Knowledge and commitment to the goals and missions of the community college and demonstrated ability to interact with a diverse and multicultural student body and staff are required. A familiarization with the accreditation process is recommended. Successful completion of a background check is required.
POSITION EFFECTIVE: Fall 2017
SALARY & BENEFITS: The starting salary is $57,415 plus excellent benefits.
