Posting Summary:
The Sheila C Johnson Center in the Curry School of Education at the University of Virginia seeks applicants for the position of Speech Language Pathologist (Wage) to work on a PRN basis. The SCJC Speech Language Pathologist (Wage) works in the Speech-Language and Hearing Clinic on an as needed basis providing evidence-based clinical services and assistance to graduate students in clinical practicum. The incumbent is engaged in direct services when necessary, as well as demonstrating and modeling best practice standards to graduate students that are working with clients, and families. Clinical focus is on communication disorders in child populations ranging from infants to post-adolescence.

Shifts are scheduled according to the needs of the SCJC.
Employees will report on an as-needed (PRN) basis, no more than 40 hours per week. This is a part-time wage position that does not carry benefits.

A Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology (SLP) and a minimum of four years of clinical experience working with childhood clinical populations are required. Also required is the Certificate of Clinical Competence issued by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), Virginia license in SLP (or established eligibility for Virginia licensure).

Qualified applicants must demonstrate a history of delivering best-practice clinical services as well as a demonstrated history of providing excellent clinical supervision. Positive histories of professionalism, multidisciplinary collaboration, and cultural competence are essential. Strong organizational skills and excellence in written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are essential. Ability to interact with various levels of internal and external constituencies with confidentiality.

Knowledge of Microsoft (Excel, Outlook, Word) is required. Some knowledge of the use of mobile technology such as an IPad is required.
