Full Time Faculty - Fire Science
College of DuPage seeks full-time, tenure track faculty member/s to teach courses in Fire Science starting in August 2017. The A.A.S. in Fire Science has been awarded national recognition through the Fire and Emergency Services Higher Education Program (FESHE) which recognizes College of DuPage's adoption of standardized core courses and commitment to fire and EMS professional development.
Additional duties include advising students, curriculum development and updates for all courses to maintain compliance with the Office of the State Fire Marshal (OSFM) and Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), various College of DuPage committee work, attend open houses and career fairs. Teaching within the discipline may include using various modalities such as traditional, hybrid, and online.
Opportunities may exist to teach a flexible schedule that may include teaching assignments during days, evenings and weekends.

Duties of Position:
Teaching at College of DuPage is enhanced and enlivened through institutional support of faculty creatively engaging in instructional development, research to improve student learning and remaining current in their field of specialty.
Experience and Education:
Qualifications for Fire Science:
- Bachelor's degree in Fire Science or related field required
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as fire fighter/paramedic required
- Licensed Paramedic by Illinois Department of Public Health required
- Licensed as a Lead Instructor by Illinois Department of Public Health required
- Certified as Instructor I by Illinois Office of the State Fire Marshal required
- At least 3 years teaching experience in paramedic/EMT/Fire Science courses required
